[ Our Story ]

Founded in 2025, METRIC Lighting Services was born from a need for independent and objective technical lighting support in the South West region.

Initially set up to provide multi-platform commissioning services, METRIC spotted a gap in the region for additional services and the business quickly grew into what you see today.

Rooted in science and a deep understanding of light and lighting systems, we aim to provide objective expertise into your project in an accessible way.

EMERGENCY LIGHTING SURVEYS

Initial verification and 5-year verification surveys, to ensure your emergency lighting system is compliant with the latest edition of BS 5266-1, BS 1838 and BS 50172.

Undertaken using high-end measurement devices with traceable calibration and a deep knowledge of the emergency lighting standards.

LIGHTING CONTROL COMMISSIONING

Multi-platform commissioning engineers, working with the top lighting control systems in the country. You name it, and we can (probably) do it. We have our regular systems, but we always like to take on a new challenge!

Particular expertise in DALI, DMX and Pixel lighting controls.

LIGHTING AND CONTROLS DESIGN

Commercial lighting design using 3D calculation software to ensure your project lighting will work, before you get to site. From concept to delivery, we can support your project at every stage.

Lighting controls design to give your project ultimate flexibility, automation and energy savings. Topology, protocol, UI - we know a solution to suit your needs.

INDEPENDENT VALUE ENGINEERING PROPOSAL REVIEW

We'll assess the compatibility of any VE options proposed on your project against the original design and performance specification. This is a thorough technical review - that means it's more than just checking for a green tick in a calculation report. We offer both techncial paperwork and physical product assessments and include product reviews, design viability and carbon assessments.
